RE: Stop providing technology to DHS/ICE

Dear Andy Jassy, CEO and Amazon Board of Directors, 

I am writing as a customer and concerned citizen to strongly condemn Amazon’s ongoing business relationships with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Reports indicate that Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides the technological infrastructure that enables DHS and ICE to track, detain, and deport immigrants. It is deeply disturbing that a company that prides itself on customer trust is facilitating the separation of families and surveillance of communities. 

Furthermore, the marketing of facial recognition technology (Rekognition) to law enforcement agencies, including ICE, poses severe civil rights risks, particularly to Black and brown communities. 

I demand that Amazon:

1. Terminate all contracts with ICE and DHS that support surveillance and deportation efforts.
2. Cease the sale of Rekognition to government agencies that threaten the privacy and human rights of marginalized groups.
3. Implement strong, transparent accountability measures for the sale and use of your services, ensuring they are not used to violate human rights. 

I am ceasing my patronage of Amazon services and products until the company stops empowering these agencies.
